ZAKOPANE & CHOCHOLOW

Zakopane & Chochołów: A Journey Through the Winter Capital and Wooden Heritage

A guided tour to Zakopane will introduce you to the highlights of the Tatra Mountains and the unique culture of the Podhale region.
A funicular will take you to the top of Gubałówka Mountain in less than five minutes, where you can enjoy a stunning panorama of the Tatras. During the tour, you will also visit Wielka Krokiew — the largest ski jump in Poland — and stroll along Krupówki Street, the city’s main boulevard known for its traditional wooden architecture.
You will have free time to browse the local market, and you will discover Chochołów — a picturesque wooden village near Zakopane, famous for its perfectly preserved timber houses dating back to the late 19th century. The highlight of the day is an encounter with traditional shepherd culture: a visit to a local bacówka (shepherd’s hut) where you will taste authentic highlander cheeses, including the famous oscypek.
You might also consider: visit thermal baths (indoor & outdoor) 3h and admire the panorama of Tatras while relaxing in the thermal pools.
